A Peek Inside the Origin Story of Bright Art Box

Some businesses are born from spreadsheets and market analysis. Bright Art Box wasn’t one of them. It grew from a lifetime of art, technology, and curiosity, threads that were woven together long before I ever thought about creating light-up art boxes.

Growing Up with Art in the Air

My earliest memories are filled with the smell of paints and the sound of pencils scratching across paper. My mom was an art teacher, and our house was always overflowing with projects, watercolors drying on the counter, clay pieces sitting on the windowsill, and sketchbooks scattered across the living room. Art wasn’t just a class; it was a way of looking at the world.

From her, I learned that art is about more than the final piece, it’s about experimentation, expression, and play. That sense of creative freedom has stayed with me my whole life.

The Computer That Changed Everything

Then came 1984. While my mom was guiding students through brushstrokes, I was discovering a different kind of canvas: my first computer. It was a bulky, humming machine that opened a new world for me.

The first program I fell in love with was Logo, a simple coding language where you guided a “turtle” around the screen with commands. It felt like magic, type a few lines, and suddenly shapes appeared. Circles, squares, patterns. It was art through logic, and it hooked me.

That little turtle taught me two things that shaped my career: how to think in systems, and how technology could be a creative tool.

A 30-Year Journey in Digital

That curiosity grew into a 30-year career in online marketing and web technology. I built websites, ran digital campaigns, developed tools, and worked with businesses to bring their ideas online. Technology became my craft, just like painting was my mom’s.

But even through all the coding, data, and strategy, I never forgot the joy of that first moment when the turtle drew its line across the screen or the feeling of walking into my mom’s art room and seeing creativity everywhere.

The Spark for Bright Art Box

Bright Art Box is where those two worlds finally come together, art and technology. Bold, colorful designs brought to life with light and digital tools. It’s part handmade craft, part tech experiment, and all about joy.

In a way, each piece I make is a continuation of both legacies: my mom’s love for art and my lifelong fascination with technology. One gave me the foundation to see beauty; the other gave me the tools to build it.

And now, Bright Art Box is here to share that light with others.
